Therapy Space, Portishead
I am a warm and creative BACP accredited psychotherapist and counsellor who offers 1:1 therapy to adults in distress or who are actively seeking change. We can start with a telephone conversation and then a short meeting to see if we think we are a good fit, move to a pre-therapy session to think some more about what has brought you to therapy and then proceed to therapy if we seem to fit.
How I work
I use an integrative, relational approach, mixed with some coaching and creative methods. I believe that being honest, non-judgmental and accepting creates a space where growth and change can take place and that drawing on a range of different theories can help fit my approach around you. We could look at emotional responses, patterns of thinking, power, control, choice, what you might need, how an experience might be impacting on your life or help you focus on a specific issue or problem.
I have experience of working with a wide range of presenting problems from relationship difficulties, health-related issues and loss to anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, PTSD and borderline personality disorder, as well as neurodiversity in all its forms. Careful listening within a warm, supportive, respectful relationship can help us feel safe enough to reflect. I think that reflection can help us heal.
